Counter-Strike 1.0 is a custom build on the CS 1.6 engine that brings back the look and sound of the earliest Counter-Strike releases. It keeps the standard CS 1.6 gameplay; the changes are visual and audio only.
What's in the build
The build is based on the original CS 1.6 with retro-style modifications already installed, styled after the first versions of the game. It runs on all versions of Windows, including Windows 10 and 11.
- Weapon models from CS 1.0 - the classic, blocky look.
- Original sound effects - shooting, reloading and footsteps as in the early builds.
- Retro map textures - the classic look on Dust, Inferno, Nuke and more.
- Menu background from CS Beta 1.
- Launcher icon in the early CS style.
Online and offline
The build comes with a list of 200+ active servers, including classic pubs, AWP maps and Deathmatch. For solo play, you can add bots through the in-game menu or console.
Language and setup
The interface is in English, and Cyrillic is supported in nicknames and chat. It's a standalone build - no installation, patches or accounts needed; just extract the archive and launch. For a more recent version, see CS 1.1.
