Counter-Strike 1.4 is a custom build based on CS 1.6 with a few visual and audio changes. All the changes are cosmetic - the gameplay mechanics aren't touched.
What's new
The build has 5 changes:
- Weapon models from CS 1.6 - the standard skins in higher quality.
- Menu background from CS 1.6 - the familiar dark-blue style.
- Improved sounds - effects based on earlier versions of CS.
- Classic map textures - a retro look on maps like de_dust and cs_italy.
- New launcher icon - styled after CS 1.6.

Language
The interface is in English, and nicknames and chat use English characters. If you want a more recent version, take a look at CS 1.5.

Counter-Strike 1.4 is based on the official CS 1.6 client with the visual and audio changes already installed - just download, install and play. If you prefer, you can download a clean CS 1.6 and add your own mods instead.
